Picked up a Rockstar cooler off craigslist for $30! Works too good! Freezing my drinks. At the lowest setting, it will go anywhere from 28 degrees to 37 but stays around 32 most of the time. Any idea if you think it is just needing to replace the thermostat control? Any idea which thermostat out there will work on this unit?

If you adjust the temperature control, e.g. turn it all the way in the opposite direction of where it is now, does it affect the temperature inside the fridge?

I just bought a Rockstar CBC 040 from craigslist yesterday and just plugged it in today. It keeps the drinks cold but always makes noise. It has been plugged in for about 10 hours so far. Will the fan noise eventually go on and off or will it always be on?

There is a 12volt fan on the interior of the cooler that will stay on the entire time. The louder noise of the compressor and the fan that cools it should shut off though when it reaches the correct temp.

Fixed it tonight. I found that the capillary tube coming off of the thermostat was sitting near the exhaust grille area of the can. The heat from compresor that was being pushed out by the fan was heating the tube tricking the unit into thinking it was still warm. Re-routed the line away from this area and works PERFECT now!
